This was SUPER easy and delicious! I tried a bit before adding the salmon, as I don't like salmon. I thought it was great, even without, and my husband (who loves salmon) polished off the rest. I served it with sourdough bread (another favorite of his).
Smoked Salmon Spread
from Barefoot Contessa Family Style, page 35
Chosen by Ashley of The Spicy Skillet
~8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
~1/2 cup sour cream
~1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
~1 tablespoon minced fresh dill (I used dried)
~1 teaspoon prepared horseradish, drained (I used horseradish mustard)
~1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
~1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
~1/4 pound (4 ounces) smoked salmon, minced
Cream the cheese in an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment until just smooth. Add the sour cream, lemon juice, dill, horseradish, salt, and pepper, and mix. Add the smoked salmon and mix well. Chill and serve with crudites or crackers.

Looks great! And I'll have to try finding some of that horseradish mustard... that sounds good.
ReplyDeleteYou are kind to make something that you don't love for your husband. My husband would love for me to make hot dogs and sloppy joes, not high on my list, so I do it when I'm dieting:)
ReplyDeleteYour cobbler looks pretty from TWD!
Your pictures are nice! Wasn't this a yummy recipe?
ReplyDeleteI'm not a salmon fan, but this looks like the perfect brunch accessory!
ReplyDeleteGreat job--your spread look perfect--I love sourdough too. I also just saw your sangria recipe below--I think i have to make it now, it looks so good and refreshing!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked it even without the salmon! Yours looks beautiful.
